If you missed Vesta Tilley - Worcester's Wonder of the Music Halls and Capses yesterday (Saturday 17th September), there are still tickets available for:
The Kit Holmes Trio on Sunday 18th September at 7:30pm
Kit’s trademark sultry vocals and virtuoso guitar playing have wowed audiences across the UK through extensive touring with the guitar hero, John Etheridge. "A welcome curiosity, with a style that skips cheerfully across boundaries" said The Guardian when reviewing Kit's unique blend of rootsy-blues and folk. The Observer described her music as "Macy Gray meets Nick Drake", and both Bob Harris and Andy Kershaw have featured her on their BBC shows. Her recent concerts include: Paul McCartney’s LIPA; the Anne Frank Awards at the BBC; a performance for Bill Bryson and Andy Kershaw and a headline show at the International Guitar Festival of Great Britain. Earlier this year, Kit released her eagerly anticipated third album, Driving into the Blue, which features the legendary double bass player Danny Thompson, to high critical acclaim. Expect an enthralling and energetic live performance from Kit and her excellent band (guitar, fiddle, bass). "Full of warmth - an absolute delight" The Observer "Impressive - a new British guitar heroine" The Guardian. Tickets £10.
Buy online here, or from our box office in St Katharines (Monday to Friday), or phone 01432-383663 (07967-517125 out of hours).
