Moors Meadow Gardens & Nursery hosts “A Hot Day in August” the Bromyard Garden Festival in aid of St. Michaels Hospice.
This is an exceptional day out for all the family and will include demonstrations by the talented Artist Blacksmith Joshua De Lisle who is now creating gates for Richmond Park in London.
Throughout the day there will be home made refreshments from coffee and cakes to lovely lunches. There will be several stalls such as jewellery, Knick-knacks, cards and deliciously mouth-watering delicacies. Also Face painting, Ladybug Hunt and Name the Dragon Competition.
There will also be a plethora of entertainment on the terrace with acoustic music from a number of superb artists all ably compered by the incorrigible Gordon White, local wit and poet. The line-up will include old friends and new faces such as the lovely voices of Horizon Lights. The very talented musicianship of Cohen and Pete, Cohen, in his early teens, is a whiz on any instrument he picks up. The ever popular and very modest Brian Jones and Friends playing a mixture of sounds of the 60’s as well as some exciting new songs co-written by Brian and Gordon White.
Once again we are fortunate to present the excellent Foxtail Soup with a broad spectrum of folk. Irrepressible Dave Haigh, hilarious wordsmith ‘Everton’ Ken, Tony Burt will play and sing a selection from his extensive repertoire introducing new songs from his latest CD, and to start the day’s feast of entertainment a spot of bluegrass from the Broken Brothers. There will also be Surprise Guests and the Bromyard Sessions players.
The Festival has a relaxed friendly garden-party atmosphere in the ideal surroundings of 7-acre Moors Meadow, a magical garden of tranquillity and charm brimming with rarely seen plants and ingenious features and sculptures with myriad wildlife including the resident Hares.
