Herefordshire Council is asking for public spirited residents to ring 999 if they witness any incidents of vandalism to public toilets.
The council has made the call following a spate of attacks by vandals on its public toilets which is pushing up maintenance costs by around 60 percent.
Over the last few months, the council has noticed a steady increase of vandalism to public toilets across the county. Doors have been kicked in and replaced at Church Lane, Ledbury three times and similar acts of vandalism have taken place at St Martin's Hereford over the last two weeks involving a service area door being kicked in a cleaner's mobile phone stolen.
